This is what appeasement looks like: Michelle Obama celebrates Iranian holiday

The Obama administration is showing who its friends are, celebrating the Persian new year of Nowruz.

The holiday, typically celebrated by Iran, became a White House priority as talks intensified between the Iranian regime and the Obama administration, which are working toward a tentative deal by month’s end, according to The Hill.

First lady Michelle Obama applauded the holiday Wednesday, speaking at a White House event that included a Persian dinner and dance troupe.

“I think it’s so fitting we’re holding this celebration here today,” she said, according to The Hill. “One of the things I love about the White House is how it truly is the people’s house. It is a house that reflects the diversity of culture and traditions that make us who we are as a country. Nowruz is one of those traditions.”

This is from a woman, remember, who couldn’t find a reason to be proud of her country for virtually her entire adult life.

Funny how the cultural traditions of “who we are as a country” only get honored by Democrats when they’re coming from some other country — generally one that actually despises “who we are as a country.”

Obama said the White House even has its own “Half Sin,” a central part of the Nowruz festivities that features seven items, all beginning with the letter S in Persian, that symbolize new hope for the coming year.

The items selected by the White House included apple for beauty, grass for rejuvenation and crushed berry spices for “the spice of life,” The Hill reported.

Oh no apples and spices. Next step — ruin the school lunches of Iranian children.

The Twittersphere had their own opinions of the celebration and they weren’t too kind.
