Petition for politically correct emoticons votes pudgy out; 'feeling fat' is offensive

The left’s assault on speech and common sense has taken on the cause of banning offensive emoticons.

Emoticons, just to be clear, are those cute little cartoonish characters that are used in emails and social media to add a touch of “feeling” when words won’t suffice.

According to offended hipsters at “Endangered Bodies” a group that challenges the “current toxic culture that promotes negative body image,” Facebook’s “feeling fat” emoticon has got to go – ASAP.

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly had a giggle over the PC stunt on “The Kelly File” Monday.

The group had launched a campaign to enlist people to sign their multinational petitions, demanding that the social media giant remove their “body shaming” emoticons before any more feelings are hurt.

The U.S. version of the petition already has over 16,000 supporters and growing…

Fat is not a feeling?

“When Facebook users set their status to ‘feeling fat’ they are making fun of people who consider themselves to be overweight, which can include many people with eating disorders,” wrote Catherine Weingarten, who started the U.S. petition.

The problem is, the “feeling fat” emoticon wasn’t invented to offend those with eating disorders. It was just an innocent way to express an emotion at the current time.

Sadly for people who might like to freely express themselves, it looked like Facebook capitulated to the PC pressure.

At the rate society is going, speech itself will be banned because inevitably somebody, somewhere, will be offended.

Without even knowing it, future generations are silencing themselves into oblivion.
