Chilling audio: Ohio ISIS suspect says he set out to kill Obama, then Congress and there’s more to come

A 20-year-old Ohio man on trial for alleged terrorist activities gave a local TV station a stunning interview where he declared that Islamic State operatives aren’t just coming to the United States, they’re already here.

“They’re everywhere,” he said.

Christopher Lee Cornell called Cincinnati’s WXIX Fox 19 reporter Tricia Macke three times on a mobile phone from his jail cell to make sure he got his message across.

He did.

Cornell said he received orders from Islamic State militants overseas, whom he called “brothers,” to wage jihad in the United States, beginning with the U.S. Capitol.

“I got orders from the brothers overseas because I’m with the Islamic State,” Cornell told Macke in the Wednesday interview that aired Friday. “My brothers over there, in Syria and Iraq, gave me specific orders to carry out jihad in the West, so I did so.”

Cornell was nabbed by FBI agents as he was buying weapons and ammunition to carry out his initial attack. Macke asked what would have happened had he not been caught.

“What would I have done?” he said before chuckling. “I would have took my gun, I would have put it to Obama’s head and I would have pulled the trigger.”

But that wouldn’t have been the end of it.

“Then I would have released more bullets on the Senate and the House of Representative members, and I would have attacked the Israeli embassy and various other buildings full of kafir [non-Muslims] who want to wage war against us Muslims and shed our blood. That’s what would happen.”

Just as chilling, he said he’s hardly alone — there are many more to take his place.

“We are pretty strong,” Cornell told the reporter, and then elaborated. “Yes, yes. In every state like I said. We’re in Texas. We’re in Ohio. We’re in New York City. We’re in Washington, D.C. We’re in every single state you can name, just about.”
