We call it a ‘match made in Hell’: Boko Haram terrorists pledge to obey ISIS ‘caliphate’

Islamic State militants gained a frightening new ally when Nigeria’s Boko Haram terrorists pledged their allegiance to the group.

The announcement came in an audiotaped message posted to YouTube, reportedly by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, according to the intelligence monitoring agency SITE, Fox News reported.

“We announce our allegiance to the Caliph of the Muslims and will hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity, in hardship and ease, and to endure being discriminated against, and not to dispute about rule with those in power, except in case of evident infidelity regarding that which there is a proof from Allah,” the message said.

Boko Haram announced weeks ago on Twitter that it was considering formally pledging loyalty to Islamic State, and the Nigerian group has showed signs in recent months that it is being helped by the infamous terrorists.

Boko Haram recently began publishing videos of beheadings that resemble tactics used by Islamic State, leading some analysts to believe the two groups had already joined forces, according to Fox News.

The message of allegiance was posted hours before Boko Haram was blamed for a series of suicide bombings in northeastern Nigeria that killed 54 and wounded more than 140.
