Democrat former senator blames Democrats for Netanyahu speech controversy

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman might be a Democrat, but he’s never let that get in the way of telling the truth about the party.

The man who was the Democratic candidate for vice president – the senator who admonished former President Bill Clinton from the Senate floor during the Monica Lewinsky scandal – came out Sunday on “Meet the Press” to blame Democrats for creating the political firestorm around Tuesday’s planned speech to Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Democrats who plan to boycott Netanyahu’s speech will be proven wrong, Lieberman said.

“I predict Prime Minister Netanyahu will make the speech that is extremely respectful of President Obama, we’ll talk about why he’s fearful of the negotiations in Iran, allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” he said.

“And by the end of Tuesday, it will be over.”
