New, nauseating, White House term for illegals is blowing up Twitter

[sharenow]

The Obama administration has a problem with saying certain words — like “Islamic terrorism” or “illegal alien.”

So it should come as no surprise that the White House coined a new phrase to refer to illegal aliens — “Americans-In-Waiting.”

Seriously.

On Tuesday a whitehouse.gov blog written by Shaun Donovan trumpeted another “victory” for not enforcing immigration law with the headline “Taking Action to Unlock the Economic Contributions of Americans-in-Waiting.”

White House

From the blog:

DHS estimates that in the first year, there may be nearly 180,000 spouses eligible to apply for employment authorization under this rule, with as many as 55,000 eligible annually in following years. These women and men are Americans-in-waiting, whose families are often stuck for years in lengthy green card backlogs as a result of our broken immigration system.

Is that why they are stuck in backlogs? It seems more reasonable that they are stuck because they broke the law.

The Twitterverse blasted the White House’s new, sanitized term to describe law breakers.

Suckers?

But Liliana nails it.
