A dash cam video captured the moment the man charged with killing “American Sniper” Chris Kyle surrendered to police.
The video was introduced this week in the murder trial of Eddie Ray Routh, the former Marine who is pleading insanity in the deaths of Kyle and his friend, Chad Littlefield, according to Fox News.
After Routh shot and killed the men at a Texas shooting range, he fled the scene in Kyle’s truck, stopping at a Taco Bell for some burritos before going home, Fox News reported.
Police encountered Routh at his home and tried to talk him out of the truck. An officer testified that the ex-Marine said “he had taken a few souls and he had more souls to take.”
Routh sped off, resulting in a chase that reached speeds up to 100 mph, but eventually stopped and got out of the truck with his hands up and laid on the roadway.
