NBC News political director and “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd has a theory on why President Obama slammed Christians at last week’s National Prayer Breakfast, by telling them to “get off [their] high horse” and remember the atrocities committed centuries ago in the name of Christ.
“I have my own theory,” Todd told Random House executive editor Jon Meacham, when Meacham wondered why Obama felt compelled to bring this up at all. “He’s not a big fan of the prayer breakfast, I think, and he almost enjoys creating a rhetorical debate.”
He does enjoy stirring the pot — although it’s usually the racial pot. This time he chose the religious one.
