Ted Cruz slaps down ‘ridiculous’ question from CNN; puts Dems on the spot

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruzlocked horns with CNN’s Dana Bash Sunday on “State of the Union” over Department of Homeland Security funding, which is scheduled to run out in a few weeks.

Doing a fine job of reciting Democrat talking points, Bash accuseds the Texas Republican of strategically holding up funding for the agency to stop the implementation of President Obama’s executive action granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

He turned the tables, though, and placed the funding holdup squarely into the lap of Democratic senators.

In a move that Cruz called “stunning irresponsibility” by Senate Democrats, he noted that they “three times filibustered funding for the Department of Homeland Security.”

Again sounding like she works for the Democratic National Committee, not an independent news organization, Bash argued Republicans lacked the votes to pass the DHS funding bill, which also stops the president from implementing his amnesty executive actions.

Cruz observed that seven Democratic members “publicly criticized” Obama’s use of executive actions in this manner. Those seven should put up or shut up instead of hiding behind a filibuster.
