Sen. Tom Cotton: Terrorists ‘can rot in hell’; until then, ‘they can rot in Gitmo’

At a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Thursday morning, Sen. Tom Cotton made a point that seems to be lost on liberals and thew Obama administration:

Islamic terrorists do not strike Americans because of the facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They attack because of a difference in ideologies.

The Arkansas Republican and war veteran made his point when questioning Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Brian McKeon, who tried to defend President Obama’s position that the facility needs to be closed because it is a national security risk.

“The only problem of Guantanamo Bay is there are too many empty beds and cells there right now. We should be sending more terrorists there for interrogation to keep this country safe. As far as I’m concerned, every last one of them can rot in hell, but since they don’t do that, they can rot in Guantanamo Bay,” Cotton concluded.
