Harry Reid’s brother arrested on charges of DUI, assaulting cop, possession of firearm while drunk

Larry Reid, the 73-year-old brother of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, was arrested this week for, among other things, assault and battery on a police officer.

Apparently bullying is a Reid family trait.

Reid was pulled over about 12:30 p.m. Monday on Nevada’s U.S. Highway 95 on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to local ABC affiliate KTNV.

He was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI, assaulting a police officer and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

“It is a private matter,” Harry Reid’s office said in statement.

A private matter? Does he mean like how much former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has paid in taxes?

Remember, Harry Reid claimed repeatedly during the 2012 campaign that an “anonymous source” had told him Romney hadn’t paid taxes for the past 10 years.

American citizens’ tax records legally are a private matter. DUI arrests are public record.
