Cub Scouts get eyeful when they hike into nude beach

A Cub Scout troop on an innocent hike found more than they were looking for.

The 8- and 9-year-old boys were on hiking the San Diego coastline in January when they stumbled upon a nude beach, San Diego-Imperial Council officials confirmed Monday to NBC Los Angeles.

The troop “encountered some individuals who were inappropriately dressed,” according to the officials.

(Or not.)

According to a council statement, the troop was “quickly rerouted to protect the youth.”

“Together we concluded that proper protocol had been observed and appropriate steps were taken in this matter,” the statement read.

According to NBC Los Angeles, several hiking trails in the locale have paths that lead to nude beaches.

Still that doesn’t stop troops from hiking in the area.

A ranger told NBC that it is common to see scout troops hiking in the area.

Perhaps its time to find another location?

There are some things a merit badge can’t cover.
