A Muslim women’s leader blasted London Conservative Mayor Boris Johnson for calling Islamic terrorists “porn-driven losers” and likened his assessment to an act of terrorism.
Remarks made by the mayor during an interview last week with The Sun grouped “all young Muslim men as losers,” claimed Mussurut Zia, general secretary for the Muslim Women’s Network, according to the Express.
“If you look at the definition of terrorism, it is to incite fear into the hearts of people – this is what he [Johnson] is doing,” she added.
Apparently the “sticks and stones” defense doesn’t apply when insulting Muslims.
But that aside, the outspoken Johnson, who is running as a Conservative candidate for a seat in Parliament, clearly didn’t refer to all Muslims — only those lured by jihadist groups into a life of religious extremism.
“If you look at all the psychological profiling about bombers, they typically will look at porn. They are literally wankers. Severe onanists,” he said, citing an MI5 report into Muslim extremism, , according to the Daily Mail.
His description continued:
They are tortured. They will be very badly adjusted in their relations with women, and that is a symptom of their feeling of being failure and that the world is against them. They are not making it with girls and so they turn to other forms of spiritual comfort – which of course is no comfort.
“They are just young men in desperate need of self-esteem who do not have a particular mission in life, who feel that they are losers and this thing makes them feel strong – like winners.
But Zia ignored Johnson’s references to “bombers” and the MI5 report on “Muslim extremism,” and accused Johnson of painting with a broad brush during her interview with Sky News.
“I do feel his comments are very irresponsible,” she said.
“I think they are going to lead to a further divide,” she said. “I think as a politician – and a leading politician – he has a responsibility to all his constituents and the people of Britain not just the readers of The Sun.”
Apparently CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, has its own women’s auxiliary branch in England — it’s called the Muslim Women’s Network.
