Seven Islamic State terrorists were no match for an elderly man hell-bent on avenging the execution of his son at the hands of the terrorist organization.
When Basil Ramadan, reportedly in his 60s, approached an ISIS checkpoint in Tikrit, about 120 miles northwest of Baghdad, he gunned down the terrorists manning the facility, according to the Daily Mail.
Ramadan managed to take out seven using an AK-47 before he himself was shot and killed.
His 18-year-old son, Ahmed Basil Ramadan, was one of eight Iraqi police officers forced to appear in an Islamic State propaganda video before being executed for spying on the militant organization in January.
According to the Mail:
Several of the victims, including Mr Ramadan’s son, are named in the captions and appear to have been interviewed for the video as they are seen wearing microphones.
In the video, Ahmad Basil Ramadan is accused of giving information on the location of Islamic State soldier houses.
The leader of the group is named as Captain Hossam Salah Bnosh. According to Islamic State media, Bnosh and seven other police officers converted to Sunni Islam and joined Islamic State.
However, once they had infiltrated the Islamic State security forces, they began to secretly spy for the Iraqi government.
The group are accused of providing intelligence information to the Iraqi government, identifying targets for coalition airstrikes against Islamic State.
After the eight were murdered, ISIS released photos taken from a video of their execution titled, “Day of Judgement,” depicting the men kneeling in orange jumpsuits and their hands cuffed behind their backs. Behind each is an ISIS militant with handgun raised and ready to fire.
After the execution, the ISIS terrorists posed for the camera like a hunter with his trophy.
On Sunday, Ramadan was ready to fire back.
