The awkwardness of the verbal gymnastics employed this week by the White House to avoid labeling the Taliban as a terrorist organization is not lost on the American people — nor is the administration’s absolute refusal to utter the phrase “Islamic extremists.”
Even the media, normally a stalwart ally, have picked up on it.
But Augusta Chronicle editorial cartoonist Rick McKee may have won the Internet for the week in his portrayal of President Obama being a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune.”
The cartoon was an instant classic as soon as it hit social media, with even “Mr. Wheel of Fortune” himself, Pat Sajak, weighing in.
