Fort Worth rodeo crowd wasn’t expecting this for an opening prayer — and it wasn’t happy!

Some Texans are outraged over the opening prayer recited at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo — especially by who delivered it.

“No self respecting Texan should ever take part in that show again! “Jason R. Coleman said on Twitter.

Muslim Imam Moujahed Bakhach of the Islamic Association of Tarrant gave the prayer Sunday at the start of the festival, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“We would like to take this opportunity to separate fact from fiction: There was never a Muslim prayer — or a prayer of any specific religion at the Stock Show,” The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo said on its Facebook page.

The explanation wasn’t enough to placate many on social media. Here’s a sampling of the anger vented on Twitter.
