French terrorist filmed grisly grocery store massacre with GoPro before he died

A Frenchman who killed hostages in a kosher market in Paris wanted to leave more than a death trail behind. He also hoped to get video footage of the rampage.

Amedy Coulibaly mounted a GoPro camera on his chest before killing hostages in a market in Porte de Vincennes, according to CNN.

The seven-minute video shows Coulibaly killing three hostages, terrorism analyst Paul Cruickshank told CNN’s Jake Tapper.

French officials believe the video was emailed to a Coulibaly associate, Cruickshank said.

“The big worry the French have is that it is going to pop up in an ISIS propaganda video in the days ahead,” he said. “The French investigators presumably know who he was emailing it to but have not revealed that yet.”

The video confirms that the terror attacks, including the assault on the Charlie Hebdo satirical newspaper in Paris, were intended to be media spectacles, Cruickshank said.

“Remember, a GoPro camera was also found in the abandoned car of the Kouachi brothers,” he said. “Its possible they also filmed part of that attack, but French investigators don’t know that for sure at this point.”

Eye witnesses have told officials that Coulibaly was editing the videos while holding kosher market shoppers hostage.
