Deflated balls spur hilarious jokes as deflategate slams Patriots for cheating

The New England Patriots – a team with a reputation for cheating almost as big as its reputation for winning – are under investigation by the NFL over Sunday’s stomping of the Indianapolis Colts.

The suspicion this time? That the home-team Patriots deflated the game balls to below regulation levels.

Playing with a deflated ball can improve a passing game in bad weather because the ball’s easier to throw – which could have been a big factor in the rain-soaked Sunday night in Gillette Stadium.

Still, the Patriots beat the Colts by 45-7, in the worst AFC championship trouncing ever, so how much could it have mattered?.

Given the Patriots reputation since 2007’s “spygate,” it matters a lot to some people.
