For police officers danger lurks in even the most mundane situations.
Seattle police officers who responded to a domestic dispute between a man and woman on New Year’s Eve were ambushed while they talked to the man involved.
The shocking attack was caught on video released Wednesday.
Police were responding to the home about 10:30 p.m. after the woman called officers claiming that the man kicked in her door, according to the Seattle police. It was the second call to that address that night.
They were interviewing the male involved in the altercation as he sat on the hood of a patrol car.
Suddenly, off camera, gunfire broke out and officers scrambled to get behind the patrol car.
They pulled the suspect down for his safety and one officer returned fire.
The gunmen sped away from the scene.
No one was injured in the shootout but the three officers were placed on paid leave per department policy, Q13 Fox News reported.
There have been no arrests in the ambush.
