New TLC show ‘My Husband’s Not Gay’ sends LGBT advocates into frenzy

This may come as a shock to some but the gay rights community is offended at something.

TLC is causing a stir as it gets set to air it’s new reality show “My Husband’s Not Gay,” that focuses on what they call “unconventional Mormon marriages” where the men, who are married to women, are also attracted to other men.

At the root of the dissension is the fact that the four men around whom the show centers, Jeff, Pret, Tom and Curtis, fight the urge to live a gay lifestyle because of their strong faith.

“These couples share the challenges they face every day and explain why they have decided to live the way they do, and explore how these wives endure this unusual facet in their relationships as they strive to make their marriages work,”a news release issued last month by the cable network read.

Ironically some gay activists, once again, assert that their feelings are greater than someone else’s freedom of choice and have demanded TLC nix the show before it even airs.

“I’m urging you to cancel your upcoming special, “My Husband’s Not Gay,” which promotes the false message that gay people can and should choose to be straight in order to be part of their faith communities,” a petition on the website change.org reads. “Please cancel this special, and don’t send the message that LGBT people have to ‘change’ or hide in the closet in order to find acceptance.”

Many on Twitter also showed their “accepting” nature.

While others just seem excited about the show.

If you want to “live and let live” you have to do the “let live” part too.
