Feisty senior citizens team up to tackle purse snatcher, hold him for cops

Three senior citizens proved age was no obstacle when it comes to fighting crime last week when they tackled a purse snatcher in a parking lot and held him until cops arrived.

The Christmas Day tussle took place in Winter Haven, Fla., when a 68-year-old woman was leaving a Chinese restaurant with friends, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Thinking he’d spotted an easy target, 45-year-old Larry Kent Jr. snatched at her purse and tried to flee. When the woman wouldn’t let go, he started dragging her across the restaurant’s parking lot, the Tribune reported.

Her companions tackled Kent,  who turned out to be armed with a BB gun. With the help of a passing good Samaritan (also getting up in years) kept him on the ground, waiting for the cuffs. (As you might suspect for a 45-year-old purse snatcher, Kent’s been handcuffed before.)
