‘Big Bird’ de Blasio ‘should take his wife and go back to Cuba’ to live, Bo Dietl tells Judge Jeanine

Former New York City detective Bo Dietl has a message for Mayor Bill de Blasio after two officers were killed in an execution-style ambush Saturday: Get out and stay out.

Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were parked in their squad car in Brooklyn when they were killed in what officials believe was a revenge attack over the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. Both unarmed black men died in altercations with police officers that have since triggered nationwide protests.

“I call the mayor ‘Big Bird de Blasio’ because that’s exactly what he is,” Dietl told Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on her show Saturday. “I was at a promotion ceremony yesterday at One Police Plaza, and he got two people clapping for him. This guy is a disgrace.”

The mayor, who took his wife on a controversial honeymoon to Cuba in 1994, has become so reviled, Dietl said, that he “should take his wife and go back to Cuba and live there.”

Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik agreed.

“He can’t lead the city,” Kerik told Pirro. “The men and women in the NYPD don’t respect him. They’re never going to respect him.”

Almost to prove Kerik’s point, officers made a symbolic gesture by turning their backs to de Blasio when he entered a press conference to address the shootings Saturday.

“Let Bill Bratton become the mayor,” Kerik added. “We’d be a lot better.”

Dietl said Bratton has his vote.

“Get rid of Big Bird let Bratton go there,” he said. “I’ll vote for him tomorrow.”

At this point I think many in the New York would actually vote for Big Bird if it meant getting rid of the current mayor.
