Move over, Steven Spielberg. It’s Al Sharpton to the rescue.
That appears to be Sony’s latest strategy for answering criticisms over leaked emails with racially charged jokes about the president: Let’s invite Sharpton into the Sony family.
Amy Pascal, the Sony executive who jokingly emailed a colleague a list of what she deemed would be Obama’s favorite movies (hint: all with black stars), will allow the civil rights agitator to offer advice on how the studio can make movies in the future.
It didn’t take long for the Twitter-verse to chime in, mocking the decision with the hashtag, #SharptonApprovedMovies. Here’s a sampling:
