In what could be a run up to the 2016 GOP presidential primary, Sen. Marco Rubio slammed fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul for his remark that it was “probably a good idea” to open up trade with the communist government of Cuba.
“Well, like many people that have hit on it, he has no idea what he’s talking about,” Rubio said in an appearance on “The Kelly File.”
Knowing that his parents had to flee Cuba to escape the rise of communist dictator Fidel Castro, it’s understandable that Rubio might take the decision by President Obama to restore diplomatic relations with Cuba personally, but it’s just as likely that he’s taking advantage of an opportunity to get in a shot at a likely GOP opponent for the White House.
