Bush would start with Florida edge – If Jeb Bush is indeed running for president, he gives Republicans something no other potential GOP candidate for the White House has at this point: the best shot at winning Florida and its 29 electoral votes in a general election against Hillary Clinton, if she becomes the 2016 Democratic nominee. And if there is one thing the last five presidential elections have shown, it is that without Florida and its haul of electoral votes, a Republican candidate has little chance of winning the White House. Jeb Bush (R) officially beginning preparations for a potential 2016 presidential bid, it may mean the GOP’s last nominee, Mitt Romney, is out of the race. Hours after Bush announced his intention to “actively explore the possibility of running for President of the United States” on Tuesday morning, Fox Business Network Senior Correspondent Charles Gasparino reported the ex-Florida governor was also telling fund-raisers there would be no battle between him and Romney. ‘Please make it stop’: Wolf Blitzer’s pop song to Jeb Bush hits a sour note – Jeb Bush might not have surprised anyone, but Wolf Blitzer sure did. Bush’s announcement on Facebook Tuesday that he’s going to “actively explore the possibility of running” for president didn’t exactly upend the political world, but Blitzer’s marking the occasion with Twitter posting of pop Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” got Twitter tongues wagging.
