Like a dog with a bone, Rep. Trey Gowdy recited Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber’s own words back to him over and over asking why he would insult the American people so many times.
Gowdy R-S.C., seemed most annoyed at Gruber’s repeated attempts to excuse himself from the comments by offering up his apologies and calling himself glib and thoughtless.
“Was your apology because you said it, or because you meant it?” Gowdy asked during Tuesday’s hearing of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Gruber’s defense was that he was not a politician and that he wanted to sound smart, but Gowdy wasn’t buying either excuse.
“You’re a professor at MIT and you’re worried about not looking smart enough? Gowdy asked. . . .” Is that the best you could come up with? ”
Gowdy finished by pointing how many stupid quotes Gruber has made for being a non-politician.
Good point.
