Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot Michael Brown to death during a street confrontation in Ferguson, Mo., in August has been largely out of the public eye while the case has consumed the country.

But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy.

Wilson married former girlfriend and fellow Ferguson police Officer Barbara Spradling during a private ceremony in Clayton, Mo., the New York Times reported Monday.

It’s reportedly a second marriage for both. Wilson divorced his first wife, Ashley Brown, after two years of marriage, according to the Daily Mail. They had no children.

According to the Times, the Oct. 24 wedding was witnessed by Wilson’s attorney. It was performed by Municipal Judge Christopher B. Graville.

At 37, Spradling is about a decade older than 28-year-old Wilson. Details on her police service were unavailable, but the times reported she received a medal of valor from the department in 2012.

Officer Spradling received a medal of valor award in 2012 for her work as a police officer.
