‘There’s been a shooting at the library’: Chilling video from Florida State University

A cell phone video shot from inside Florida State University’s Strozier Library captures the palpable tension among about 300 students inside during a shooting early Thursday morning cramming for finals.

Three victims were wounded, one critically, and the gunman was shot to death by campus police officers when they confronted him outside the building on FSU’s campus in Tallahassee.

The Associated Press identified the gunman as Myron May, an FSU graduate, who attended law school and  was licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico but was moving back to Florida.

May opened fire about 12:30 a.m. and was gunned down after refusing police orders to drop the weapon and firing instead.

The motive for the shooting was unknown.
