Sheriff whose deputy was killed by illegal alien pleads with Obama to back down on amnesty

A California sheriff who just buried a deputy killed by an illegal immigrant sent President Obama a poignant message that his executive order on immigration “does nothing to make America or the undocumented population any safer.”

In a YouTube video posted on Wednesday, Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones directly addressed Obama, informing the president that his deputy was killed when he was shot in the head by a Mexican national in the United States illegally.

The man also killed a deputy from another county, and Jones said he had a significant criminal history and was previously removed from the country four times with no consequences for his actions.

“In the scope of today’s society, the inaction of our nationally elected officials has real consequences for the populace as a whole,” Jones said of the video. “Now is the time to take this conversation out of coffee houses and talk shows to an audience who has the ability to affect real change.”

In the video, Jones reminded the president he is “singularly responsible for the hands-off policy that exists in Homeland Security and its subsidiaries, including Customs and Border Protection.”

The sheriff repeatedly came back to safety.

“I understand the integral role that the undocumented population plays in our national and state economies,” he said. “The problem I have is I can’t tell which ones are good and which ones are evil, and neither can you. By their very definition they are undocumented.”

“This is not about racism  – it is about an increasingly violent and uncertain world in which we are inadequately protected,” he added.

“Mr. President, my request to you today can simply be stated: make immigration reform a priority,” Jones said. “I do not care which reform you choose. Pathway to citizenship, guest work program, or any of the other innovative programs that currently exist.”

“But deferred action or amnesty is deferring this crisis,” he continued. “It is not reform, it’s simply giving up. It does nothing to make America or the undocumented population any safer.”
