When the Senate vote to allow the Keystone XL pipeline failed Tuesday, a handful of American Indians in the gallery broke out into chanting, but the Senate’s best known “Native Americn” failed to join in.
Anyone else curious why Elizabeth Warren didn’t join in the Native American chant that disrupted votes on the Senate floor? #KeystoneXL

In fact, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts Democrats who presided over the vote, had her fellow tribesman removed from the room.

According to the Argus Leader, of Sioux Falls, S.D., the disruption broke out when Greg Graycloud, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and anti-Keystone activist began singing a Sioux victory song in celebration of the vote for the pipeline’s failure.
Warren was not amused, but countless Twitter posters were. Here are some postings collected by Twitchy.com, with a lead-off from the Washington Free Beacon.

Someone in the Senate Chamber was doing a Native American chant. Probably in honor of Warren sitting in the chair of authority. #justsaying — Bryan R.. (@youthpastorbry) November 18, 2014
Warren famously claimed to be one thirty-second part Cherokee Indian to claim preferential status as a “minority” law professor back in the 1980s.
That Indian blood seemed to have deserted her on Tuesday for some reason, maybe because there was no career advancement possibility
@SuperAndrea @FreeBeacon After how many viewings of this does it stop being funny? Because currently I’ve lost count & am still giggling. — Robb Allen (@ItsRobbAllen) November 18, 2014
@FreeBeacon Warren didn’t seem to recognize the battle cry. Go figure…. — DCinAZ (@DCinAZ) November 18, 2014
@AndrewKirell @jschau11 Warren only understood 1/32 of the chant. — Richard J Sunkle (@RichardJSunkle) November 18, 2014
There are other explanations, though.
Of course Elizabeth Warren didn’t join in the Native American chant in the Senate. She was busy painting with all the colors of the wind. — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) November 19, 2014
@benshapiro more like blowing them out her progressive ass…
— Alex P. Keaton (@TottenhamKid) November 19, 2014
It couldn’t just be that she didn’t know what was going on, could it?
@benshapiro It’s almost as if she, a real life native American, didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Odd that…

Nah, couldn’t be that.
