Trey Gowdy: Impeachment is a very bad idea, ‘have you met Joe Biden?’

Damned if we do, and damned if we don’t!

Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy told Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Thursday’s “O’Reilly Factor” that impeaching the president is a really bad idea.

“What about what Judge [Andrew] Napolitano raised?,” O’Reilly asked. “That this is an impeachable situation because it does go against Congress making the laws, because the president is making a new law. And the new law says that if you have children who are American citizens, even though you yourself are an illegal undocumented person, you can stay in this country. That supersedes the old law. Napolitano claims it’s unconstitutional and impeachable. Do you see anybody going down that road in the House?”

“Have you met Joe Biden?,” Gowdy answered.

The bone-chilling thought of Biden becoming the president wasn’t his only objection. Gowdy said the conversation about impeachment is “bait” that he won’t be taking.

“It’s a punishment, not a solution,” he said.

It does not matter WHO the president is, if they are breaking the law…IMPEACH THEM!

Just let the house impeach him, they can afford to lose a couple seats their. Just give him that Scarlett letter that will follow his legacy forever like it does Clinton. That will be worth it. It will be

Love Trey, but his statement about impeachment being a punishment and not a solution I found irritating. Obama SHOULD be punished! And I believe Biden would be easier to force down the right path, he is not as angry and hate filled at Obama….

Not taking an appropriate action because it could be politically negative is not a good enough reason. You do what is right because it is right. And impeachment would be a lot more than punishment; it would stop Obama from taking some harmful-to-the-country action like every other day. He is a lawbreaker. If they refuse to address this, then that means Obama is above the law. And I have to wonder how “mad” the people would be if he were impeached, when they have just shown what they think of him as president by the last election. I love Trey Gowdy too but I don’t think I agree with him on this. If impeachment is attempted and doesn’t go through, at least they have tried to remove a lawbreaker from the highest office in America and the leader of the free world. In other words, they did the right thing. That is what we are judged on finally, not the outcome. By the ultimate Judge, which I am much more concerned about that some political junk.
