Jealous Pelosi rips into reporter, cries sexism: ‘I was never on the cover of TIME’

When you’re holding a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

After her party took a drubbing in last week’s midterm election, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was asked a seemingly innocuous question Thursday at a news conference — by a female reporter — about whether she was considering stepping down.

“As a woman, is there a message here?” Pelosi responded, according to the Washington Times.

It was clear that the question struck a nerve, as she stayed with the sexism theme.

“When was the day that any of you said to Mitch McConnell, when they lost the Senate three times in a row … ‘aren’t you getting a little old Mitch? Shouldn’t you step aside?'” she asked, while staring down the poor reporter. “Have any of you ever asked him that question?”

Pelosi touted her success in ascending to the top of the Democratic caucus, before complaining that she was treated differently, the Times reported.

“I was never on the cover of Time magazine, even though I was the first woman to be [speaker]. Isn’t that a curiosity?,” she said. “Republicans win and Boehner is on the front of Time magazine. Mitch McConnell wins and he is on the front to Time magazine. Is there a pattern here? But as a woman, is there a message here? Is there something that we’re missing?”

Sexism, the new racism.

With Hillary Clinton all but assured of being the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, get used to it.
