Pelosi caught in a blatant lie about Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber

While much of the media continues to ignore MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, the architect of ObamaCare, saying the bill only passed due to the “stupidity of the American voter,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took things a step further.

“I don’t know who [Gruber] is,” she said during a Thursday news briefing. “He didn’t help write our bill.”

Au contraire, madame.

It turns out that Pelosi referenced Gruber’s work at a 2009 press briefing while discussing a Congressional Budget Office analysis of Obamacare, as seen in the video here:

In a further blatant misrepresentation, when asked about Gruber’s insulting remarks about the American voters, Pelosi dismissed him altogether, saying he’s “a person who wasn’t writing our bill commenting on what was going on while we were writing the bill.”

The New York Times reported in 2012 that Gruber “helped the administration put together the basic principles” of Obamacare:

“After Mr. Gruber helped the administration put together the basic principles of the proposal, the White House lent him to Capitol Hill to help Congressional staff members draft the specifics of the legislation.”

So which is it? Did the venerable New York Times get it wrong? Or is Pelosi the victim of a serious memory lapse?

Or is she simply lying? Again.
