Obama adviser’s midterm takeaway: Dems need to figure out how to talk to white people

Burton

While his party scrambles to get the license plate number of the truck that ran over them on Tuesday, Democratic strategist Bill Burton has figured out he problem.

According to Burton, the party that spends plenty of time peddling inflammatory racial rhetoric doesn’t know how to talk to white voters — who still make up over 70 percent of the U.S. population.

“Democrats are never going to win in midterms if we don’t figure out how to talk to white voters,” he said. “I don’t think that the message that we have has been able to really translate to the coalition of voters that helped bring Republicans into even more power.”

It would help if you stop calling them racists!

The former spokesman for President Barack Obama appeared Thursday on “The Kelly File,” and seemed to believe this is only a problem during midterm elections.

Either way, it would seem that Democrats are not getting the same milage out of white guilt that they once got. Perhaps this is the beginning of a realization that you can only divide a nation so much.
