Busted on video! Democrat thievery a sign of desperation

It’s no longer enough for the Democrats to steal elections. They also want to steal election signs.

On Wednesday the husband of Democrat State Sen. Bethany Hall-Long was caught red-handed running off with Republican campaign signs that read “Fix the Economy! Vote Republican.”

Two GOP campaign workers said they had placed signs in the area three times and they disappeared each time. So the workers decided to stake out the area with a camera hoping to catch the stealthy swiper, according to the News Journal.

The video they filmed captured the senator’s husband, Dana Long, grabbing the signs and running to his car while attempting to cover his face with the stolen merchandise.

“Those aren’t your signs, bud,” said one campaign worker.

“There’s no, there’s no…There is no name on these signs,” Long said.

The worker pointed out the signs said, “Property of the Republican Party.”

Long added the signs to a large collection in his car before driving away.

“We got you, brother,” shouted one of the workers. “We got your license plate, your face and everything”.

The two workers posted the video online Wednesday night.

“I cannot at this point in time make any comments at the advice of counsel,” Long told the News Journal when reached at his home.

Sen. Hall-Long however, did make a statement through her campaign.

“My husband is the man depicted in the video. The video shows him removing a handful of signs this morning. He turned them over to the Democratic Party and asked that they be returned to the Republican Party about six hours after they were taken up,” she said.

“Sadly, this race has become tough and personal. My husband is my high school sweetheart and he loves me very much. I was not aware that he had allowed his frustration over the campaign attacks to get the better of him. Of course, I’m disappointed and wish that it had not happened.”

The Republican Party also issued a written statement.

“When you only have a track record of high taxes, unemployment and lower wages for private sector employees to stand on, the Democrats must resort to breaking the law to win elections because they are scared of being held accountable for their dismal performance,” John Fluharty, executive director of the state GOP said.

A warrant has been issued for Long’s arrest.
