Here’s the proof of why liberals make lousy friends — even to liberals!

For years, liberals have derided conservatives for being intolerant. They have lambasted us for the way they say we demand all views other than our own be censored. And the facts were on their side.

After all it was conservatives who demanded the Ground Zero cross be removed from the 9/11 museum. We are the people who demanded the CEO of Mozilla, Brendan Eich, be removed because he didn’t believe the same thing we did when it comes to traditional marriage. Conservatives are the ones who insist Christian bakers, photographers and the like work for same sex weddings. And, of course, it is conservatives that demand any and all references to God and religion be removed from the public square.

Oh, wait. That’s liberals.

They are the group that believes in free speech, if that speech correlates with what they believe ought to be said. Otherwise they want you chastised, ostracized and marginalized. They will do everything in their power to ruin you in the public square if you have the audacity to go against what they deem acceptable. Ask Chick-fil-A.

Now a recent Pew Research study supports what the majority of us already knew. Conservatives are more tolerant than liberals. According to the study, while conservatives “are more likely to have friends who share their own political views,” it is the those on the left who are “more likely than those in other ideological groups to block or unfriend someone on a social network – as well as to end a personal friendship – because of politics,” reported CNS News.

The study shows that only 16 percent of consistent conservatives said they have stopped talking to or being friends with someone based on politics while 24 percent of consistent liberals said they did.

Tolerance is more than believing one group has the right to be heard. It’s believing that all people, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation be given a fair chance to express themselves. So while it is true that one political group wants to stifle opposing views, it isn’t the one the mainstream media has been telling everyone it is.
And now there are numbers to prove it.
