Wendy Davis has just been singled out for “running one of the nastiest campaign ads you will ever see,” according to the Washington Post – and that might be an understatement.
Predictions for Wendy Davis’ next campaign ad are off-the-charts funny!
“A tree fell on Greg Abbott,” the narrator says about Davis’ wheelchair-bound Republican opponent. “He sued and got millions. Since then, he’s spent his career working against other victims.”
Someone told her Texans would respond well to a gubernatorial candidate with this kind of poor judgement?
Davis and this ad are sending waves of disgust across social media.
The Abbott team responded swiftly. Spokeswoman Amelia Chasse said in a statement:
“It is challenging to find language strong enough to condemn Sen. Davis’ disgusting television ad, which represents a historic low for someone seeking to represent Texans. Sen. Davis’ ad shows a disturbing lack of judgment from a desperate politician, and completely disqualifies her from seeking higher office in Texas.”
“It’s offensive … It shows the tenor of the campaign,” state Attorney General Abbott told the San Antonio Express. “If you look at my ads, I focused on what I’m going to be doing as governor, and my opponent spends all her time in ads attacking me, as I’m attacking the challenges that fellow Texans deal with.
“It’s her choice if she wants to attack a guy in a wheelchair. I don’t think it’s going to sell too well,” Abbott concluded.
