SNL opens with a swipe at the NFL

Saturday Night Live opened its 40th season with some easy shots at the National Football League.

The parody featured CNN’s “Candy Crowley” trying to conduct a hard-hitting interview with two former NFL stars who can’t answer a single question coherently.

Guest host Chris Pratt appeared as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in clips of a faux press conference where Goodell makes a fool of himself and thanks Michael Vick and  Redskins’ owner Dan Snyder for supporting him.

Watch the clip via NBC.

The mockery continued later in the show with NFL player introductions that depicted the whole organization as a bunch of violent criminals. There’s a good chance some football fans are not amused.
