Muslim groups in the United Kingdom can’t protect their own religion, so they want the country’s prime minister to lie about it instead.
In a remarkable combination of cowardice and arrogance, a coalition of British Islamic groups are asking Prime Minister David Cameron to stop referring to the Islamic State terror group by the name it gave itself.
They want him to call it “the Un-Islamic State,” according to a report in The Independent.
“We propose that ‘Un-Islamic State’ (UIS) could be an accurate and fair alternative name to describe this group and its agenda – and we will begin to call it that,” the groups wrote.

President Obama beat them to the punch in his speech last week declaring that no matter what the actual members of the Islamic State might think, they really aren’t Islamic at all.
Why? Because it doesn’t fit his world view.
Well here’s an idea. How about these Muslim groups cut out the middle man and write a letter to the Islamic State telling its leaders to stop calling themselves “Islamic?”

While they’re at it, they could make a big show of telling the terrorists how doing things like beheading innocent hostages, chasing civilians from cities, and raping women captives and selling them into sexual slavery is all so un-Islamic.
Maybe those 1.2 billion “moderate” Muslims we keep hearing about worldwide could even stand up and denounce the killers who insist they’re the true representatives of the faith founded by a murderous merchant in the sands of Arabia in the seventh century instead of whining all the time about how it’s everyone else’s fault their countries are cesspools of corruption.
That’ll never happen.
Meanwhile, Twitter posters — as always — see the humor even in stories as bizarre as Islamic clergy asking an Episcopalian prime minister to decide whether a bunch of Arabs who calls themselves “Islamic” really are “Islamic.”
