Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer commemorated the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by posting a series of tweets recounting that day’s events as he traveled with former President George W. Bush.
A fascinating move that gave followers a behind-the-scenes look at what was happening throughout the fateful day.
Fleischer’s efforts caught the attention of journalist Sharyl Attkisson, prompting her to make a keen observation: We still don’t know what President Obama was doing the night Islamic terrorists attacked the American consulate in Benghazi.
@AriFleischer@EricSteeleLive makes me recall how we still have no idea what commander in chief did Sept. 11, 2012.

The former CBS News investigative journalist posted several tweets expanding on her initial remark, showing an intellectual curiosity that’s nonexistent among today’s media:

As might be expected, Attkisson’s thought provoking questions got the creative juices of her Twitter followers flowing:
@SharylAttkisson @AriFleischer @EricSteeleLive FOIA the Secret Service logs for that day. I know over half America would like to know too!

@SharylAttkisson Ironic that for every other occasion, official photos are released in minutes. None published that night.

@SharylAttkisson @AriFleischer @EricSteeleLive Starting to think there’s no other answer than Obama was having illicit affair that night. — sarainitaly (@sarainitaly) September 12, 2014
@SharylAttkisson @AriFleischer @EricSteeleLive well Obama obviously didn’t get on his phone to see how his Ambassador was faring — JimWilemon (@JimW_in_NM) September 12, 2014
@SharylAttkisson He was sleeping. Why else would they not disclose his whereabouts the evening an embassy fell? — Elaine (@elaineewells) September 12, 2014
@SharylAttkisson Unfortunately we know the answer. When the “optics” aren’t self – serving… — ken freeman (@kenfreeman11) September 12, 2014
