M*A*S*H star Wayne Rogers explodes on Fox News contributor: ‘Will you shut up?’

rogers-fieldsThings got heated Saturday morning when Fox News host Eric Bolling asked a “Cashin’ In” panel if the U.S. government should pay a ransom to Islamic State militants holding an American woman hostage.

Wayne Rogers, one of the stars of the television series “M*A*S*H*,” and a regular on the show, exploded on Fox News contributor Michelle Fields when she interrupted him, saying “will you shut up?”

Rogers explained his view of paying ransoms, saying “all you do when you do that is encourage them to do more kidnappings.”

At that point, the two panelists were on the same page, believing you have to respond to hostage scenarios with force. But when Bolling pointed out that five Guantanamo detainees were exchanged for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, things began to unravel.

Rogers said swapping a prisoner for a person is not negotiating with terrorists, and as he tried to further explain his position, Fields, who disagreed, jumped in and began talking over him.

“Let me finish, for God’s sake!” Rogers shouted as he threw papers at the camera. “Will you shut up? What is the matter with you? Why do you have to talk all the time?”

And through it all, Fields kept talking.

Rogers was visibly agitated, and that was evident when he was given the last word in the segment.

“It is not negotiating, but you’re a moron because you talk to much and you don’t think through it,” he said to Fields.

Ouch!
