A man driving a car bedecked with an ISIS Islamic State flag told Chicago police Thursday that he would detonate a bomb if they tried to search the car.
Emad Karakrah refused to pull over for police and ran several red lights before he was stopped, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
That’s when he told them about the bomb.
Officers from the local bomb squad, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security searched the vehicle and found no explosive device, according to the report.
Karakrah was charged with felony counts of disorderly conduct and aggravated fleeing, and a misdemeanor count of driving without a license.
Twitter was abuzz with advice and snarky remarks, including these:
@Suntimes @CSTbreaking You risk much driving around Chicago with an ISIS flag. Even the gang bangers want a shot at shooting them!
