Crackpot MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson flirted on the borders of blasphemy and insanity Saturday, comparing Barack Obama with Jesus Christ.
Discussing the riots in Ferguson, Mo., Dyson said Obama’s presence there was necessary for the Almighty.
“I’m a Christian preacher and God finally said, ‘look, I can’t send nobody else. I got to go myself,'” he told fellow crackpot Melissa Harris-Perry.
”And I ain’t saying that Obama is Jesus, but for many of his followers he is.”
Thanks for clearing that up.
An ordained Baptist minister whose theology was overtaken by leftie before there was even a guy Clinton running for president, Dyson has stepped into theological swamps before. In 2013, for instance, he made headlines when he explicitly compared Attorney General Eric Holder to a man who spoke directly to God.
“What he should understand is that he is the chief law giver of the United States so to speak,” he told now-cashiered MSNBC host Martin Bashir. “He’s the Moses of our time and at least for this administration.”
Eric Holder as Moses. Barack Obama as Jesus. At some point, somebody’s should be wondering what the hell this guy is doing teaching sociology at Georgetown, an allegedly Catholic school that makes headlines for some decidedly un-Catholic reasons (you might remember one of them as being named Sandra Fluke.)
But Dyson might have too far even for far lefty Harris-Perry.
“I think we’ve got to go, Reverend Dyson, because you just made the sentence, ‘I’m not saying Obama is Jesus’ and I don’t want to get written up for that,'” she said.
