Tourist rescues sea turtles suffocating for meat traders

I’m a natural-born meat eater. No PETA-type here. But sea turtles are an endangered species, and leaving them on their backs to suffocate is sadistic. Sea turtles are way cool, and I really wouldn’t want them to go extinct.  Bravo to the rescuers.

From Metro.co.uk:

A couple of Loggerhead sea turtles, which were destined for the meat traders, have been rescued and returned to sea after being discovered laying on their backs and suffocating.

The endangered animals were found by Chris Skone-Roberts in the garden of a hotel in Little Corn Island, Nicaragua.

The 44-year-old British tourist had immediately tried to cover the five foot turtles in water but was pulled away by an angry woman who claimed they were hers.

Mr Skone-Roberts was not put off though and rounded up a group of people to help him retrieve the animals
