‘So help me Golf’: Out-of-touch Obama gets rough treatment from NY Times

It’s not often that liberal New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd will find a kindred spirit in conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham, but that was just the result of Dowd’s latest column that blasted President Barack Obama for being out of touch.

Again, in the New York Times!

Dowd’s piece came on the heels of Obama making a beeline to the golf course Friday after addressing the nation on the death of James Foley at the hands of Islamic State terrorists. Appropriately titled “The Golf Address,” the column is a play on the Gettysburg Address that begins: “FORE! Score? And seven trillion rounds ago…”

Rather smartly, it ends with “So help me Golf.”

The column would have been dismissed as more rantings from the racist right-wing fringe had it been written by a conservative, but this is from “the queen of liberalism.”

Ingraham was just one of many Twitter users who felt compelled to respond to Dowd’s rare criticism of the president:
