Rubber bullets or earplugs? Riot reporter doesn’t know the difference

A Huffington Post reporter covering the events in Ferguson, Mo., this week, asked a serious question of his followers this morning on Twitter:

Reilly is one of the reporters arrested this week at a McDonald’s in Ferguson while covering the riots.

He called the arrest “dehumanizing” in an article for his employer, but it may not have been nearly as embarrassing as the hilarious responses to his question.

Leave aside the general ignorance of firearms that kind of question puts on display. It’s even more telling that American journalism has reached the point where “crowdsources” have replaced “sources” as the place some reporters go for information.

When that kind of lazy thinking passes for reporting, is it any wonder the media’s liberal?
