‘Dear God NO!’ Hillary’s plan to ‘hug it out’ with Obama causes Twitter explosion

In the face of unspeakable evil, where even small children in the Middle East are being subjected to unimaginable atrocities, the woman who may be the next president of the United States looks forward to settling her disagreements with the current occupant of the White House by “hugging it out.”

While it may not rank up there with the Pope releasing a “Top 10” list of how to become a happier person amid the human carnage, just the thought of such a touchy-feely moment was enough to cause Twitter users to recoil in horror.

Clinton offered some stinging criticism of President Obama’s foreign policy in a recent interview with The Atlantic, calling his actions in Syria a “failure.” But with the two politicians summering in Martha’s Vineyard, and their paths expected to cross, a Clinton spokesman released a statement Tuesday walking back the criticism.

According to the spokesman, Clinton spoke with Obama by phone on Tuesday to “make sure he knows that nothing she said was an attempt to attack him.”

“Like any two friends who have to deal with the public eye, she looks forward to hugging it out when… they see each other tomorrow night,” the statement said.

National Review Online editor Jonah Goldberg jumped on the news, to include coming up with his own hashtag: #GreatMomentsInHuggingOutForeignPolicy.

Goldberg and New York Times Bestselling author Brad Thor, who also engaged on the topic, then offered a couple of entertaining examples of “hugging it out.”

CNN anchor Jake Tapper tweeted a blurb on the news, prompting additional thoughts from the world of social media:
