President Obama has seen his share of hecklers during his six years in office, and he can add another incident to that list after being interrupted Wednesday by a protester seemingly in support of Israel.
The president handled the incident much as he has in the past, feigning tolerance for the protester, but it was the crowd’s reaction that stood out.
While speaking to about 1,500 supporters in Kansas City, a uber-casual Obama became distracted when a woman in the audience starting yelling.
“I’m sorry, what are you hollering about?” Obama asked.
According to CBS News, the woman was yelling, “Jesus is the Lord of Israel.”
“I believe in God,” an annoyed Obama replied. ” Thanks for the prayer. Amen.”
As the woman continued to yell, the crowd began chanting to drown her out — a common practice at many political events where crowds often chant “U.S.A., U.S.A.!”
But not Wednesday.
Instead of praising their country, the pro-Obama crowd erupted in a chant of “We love you! We love you!”
