Bob Beckel, co-host of “The Five,” admitted on Wednesday’s program that he has “done dope” in the White House.
The Fox News quintet were discussing an unsubstantiated claim by hip hop star Snoop Dogg that he smoked marijuana in a bathroom while at the White House, when Beckel confessed — Snoop attended the 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in December.
“I can’t criticize this guy because I’ve done dope in the White House myself,” Beckel said.
“Are you breaking news?” fellow co-host Eric Bolling asked.
“I did, yeah,” Beckel replied.
Beckel served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State during the Carter Administration.
It was during this time that country music star Willie Nelson claimed to have smoked a joint on the roof of the White House.
Despite a growing leniency toward marijuana in the age of Obama, it remains illegal to smoke weed in Washington, and it’s not so surprising these alleged incidents took place during Democratic presidencies.
