An NAACP convention is no place for black conservatives.
That’s all too clear in a video released Monday by the conservative website Progressives Today that shows representatives of FreedomWorks getting a harassing earful from an NAACP member who doesn’t think they belonged at the NAACP’s annual convention being held this week at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.
FreedomWorks outreach director Deneen Borelli and FreedomWorks fellow the Rev. C.L. Bryant were manning a booth at the convention – FreedomWorks was denied a speaker’s slot – when the confrontation took place Sunday, according to Progressives Today.
As the video makes clear, the NAACP – a once-vaunted civil rights organization that’s degenerated into a shadow of liberalism, government handouts and racial shakedowns – has no time for conservatives. As the treatment of admirable Americans like Condoleeza Rice and Clarence Thomas shows, that’s especially true for black conservatives.
White-as-snow Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid can take a break from ruining the U.S. Senate to be welcomed by the NAACP, and progressive liberal and white-as-Reid Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., can make the rounds, American Spectator reports.
But Borelli, author of “Blacklash: How Obama and the Left Are Driving Americans to the Government Plantation,” and Bryant, a Baptist minister and former NAACP chapter president, get snubs and hostility.
As Progressives Today puts it: “This was an awful display of intolerance by a group that claims to fight for inclusion and tolerance in society.”
Pathetic is more like it.
